My client in Neath is looking for a Electrical Design Engineer due to expansion.

Job Responsibilities:


Undertake low voltage designs, also innovative and efficient control panel design that align with client specifications and industry standards.

Work closely with clients, project managers, and internal teams to understand project requirements, propose design solutions, and provide regular updates on project progress.

Manage the build process of control panels by collaborating with workshop personnel, ensuring the smooth assembly and integration of electrical components into control panels.

Oversee the thorough testing and validation of control panels to ensure compliance with safety standards, functionality, and reliability.

Provide hands-on support during the commissioning phase, troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues that may arise.

Client liaison both existing and new via site visits and meetings etc.

Ensure the highest levels of quality are met.


* BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

* Proven experience in designing electrical control panels for industrial applications.

* Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).

* Strong knowledge of electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and sensors.

* Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL).

* Solid understanding of electrical principles, circuitry, and control systems.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

* Ability to think strategically to deliver both the company and departmental objectives.

* Commercially aware and financially literate.

* High computer literacy with advanced numerical and analytical skills, to manage multiple data sets and drive insights.

* Outstanding attention to detail and able to recall large volumes of data.

* Able to plan, prioritise and manage a heavy workload and delegate appropriately.
