Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Function: Service
Reports to: Service Supervisor

Our client are a sole UK distrubutor for construction & utility equipment who are looking to add to their South Gloucestershire area. They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their rapidly growing team.

Field Service Engineer Role:
Maintain, service and repair their Plant machinery whilst maintaining safe working practices at all times. Ensuring that you provide our customers the best levels of service, by regular communication with both the customer and service office to update on progress throughout the set activity.

Accountabilities:
Attending customers sites to diagnose the reported faults to:
* Diagnosing the root cause of the reported fault
* Identifying any parts required to carry out the repair so a return visit can be re scheduled.
* Completing accurate and timely repair
* Completing the specified documentation (RAMS, Job sheets etc)
* Carry out a post repair test / inspection on the unit to ensure the unit is operating to expected performance levels
• Keep the customer and your supervisor up to date on your estimated time of arrival following the receipt of the job instructions
• Ensuring you register your arrival on site and undertake any site inductions as per the customer’s specific site requirements.
• Complete a dynamic site-specific risk assessment and method statement prior to commencing any work in line with company and site procedures.
• Complete all works to plan as agreed with the customer and service office.
• Complete all job specific documentation relating to standard service and warranty repairs to allow for swift internal processing.
• Ensure you label and return all unused parts, standard service and warranty used parts for processing.

Person Specification:
Qualifications / Experience
Essential:
– Experience of working with Heavy plant and machinery.
– Experience of working on customers sites
– NVQ level 3 in plant maintenance or equivalent
– H&S training carried out in PPE awareness, hand tools
– Experience of delivering excellent customer service
– Full driving licence
– Use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment
Desirable:
– Worked in similar environment
– Technical knowledge of Komatsu products
– SPA or CSCS training
– Other – H&S training (IOSH)
– IPAF training (MEWP, Harness & Telehandler)
– First Aid & Fire Marshall
– Abrasive wheels
– Air-conditioning
– Enviro spills
